4mm or 6mm Polycarbonate?

Both options use the same heavy-duty Polyeco ACE steel structure. The main difference is insulation, rigidity and price.

6mm — Standard Option

A strong, practical choice for most ACE installations. It provides good insulation, excellent light transmission and keeps the overall cost lower.

Choose 6mm if: you want the best balance of performance and price.

6mm — Extra Insulation

The thicker 10mm polycarbonate provides improved insulation and greater rigidity, making it a good choice for customers who want better heat retention or plan to use the greenhouse more intensively through the colder months.

Choose 10mm if: insulation and extending the growing season are a higher priority.

6mm is suitable for most projects. Choose 10mm if you want the additional insulation and a more substantial cover.

Installation Options

Build It Yourself

The Polyeco ACE is supplied for self-assembly with the required frame components, polycarbonate and fixings for your chosen configuration. Because of its size and weight, we recommend having at least 3–4 capable people available for the build, together with suitable access, tools and a correctly prepared base. The ACE must be installed onto a suitable, level foundation. Depending on your chosen configuration, this may be a concrete or block base, or a purpose-made foundation frame.

Let Us Install It

For larger ACE greenhouses, professional installation is often the easiest option. Our experienced installation teams can deliver and assemble your greenhouse across much of the UK, ensuring the frame is correctly positioned, secured and finished.

Installation is an optional extra and must be arranged in advance. Please contact us before placing your order if installation is required so we can confirm availability, access requirements and whether your proposed base is suitable.

The installation area should be: Level and correctly prepared Large enough for the selected greenhouse. Accessible for our delivery and installation team. Clear of obstacles around the working area. Finished and ready before the agreed installation date. Not sure what base you need?
