Polyeco Classic

Most greenhouses are designed around one assumption: that the weather will behave itself.

In Britain, that seems optimistic.

The Polyeco Classic takes a different approach. It uses a heavy-duty galvanised steel frame, full sheets of twin-wall polycarbonate and a proper ground anchoring system because, frankly, a greenhouse should spend more time protecting tomatoes than attempting to become airborne.

It is 3 metres wide, available in a range of lengths, and comes with either 4mm or 6mm polycarbonate. For most gardens, 4mm is more than enough. If you want a little more insulation and heat retention, choose 6mm.

One of the slightly unusual things about the Classic is that it does not normally need a concrete base. On suitable soil or grass, the supplied anchoring system allows the greenhouse to be secured directly into the ground.

That saves money, saves preparation work and, perhaps most importantly, means you can spend your weekend putting up a greenhouse rather than learning how to become a part-time concrete contractor.

Inside, there is plenty of room for tomatoes, cucumbers, seedlings, raised beds, shelving and all the other things gardeners somehow acquire once they have more growing space.

The standard greenhouse includes the galvanised steel frame, polycarbonate cover, ground anchors, fittings, a stable-style door and rear ventilation window.

You can build it yourself, or if the thought of several hundred bolts does not fill you with joy, we also offer professional installation across much of the UK.

The Classic is not our cheapest greenhouse.

A great all-round choice for most UK gardens. Excellent light transmission and the most economical option.

Choose 4mm if: you want the best balance of performance and price.

6mm — Better Insulation

The thicker polycarbonate provides improved insulation and heat retention, making it a good choice for customers wanting a little more protection from colder temperatures.

Choose 6mm if: insulation and extending the growing season are more important to you.

Still unsure? For most customers, 4mm is perfectly suitable. Choose 6mm if you specifically want the additional insulation.

The Classic was designed to be strong, practical and slightly over-engineered for the job. Once it is up, the interesting part begins: filling it with plants.

Build It Yourself

The Polyeco Classic is supplied as a self-assembly greenhouse with all required fixings and assembly instructions. It can normally be installed directly onto suitable soil or grass using the supplied ground anchoring system.

Allow plenty of time and ideally have at least two people available for the build.
